The British Columbia government is reminding everyone that it is illegal to build trails on Crown land without prior authorization.

The new allowable annual cut for the Fort St. John Timber Supply Area (TSA) will remain at 2,115,000 cubic metres, chief forester Diane Nicholls announced today.

A 60-hectare prescribed burn will be conducted in the Winlaw Creek area to help reduce wildfire risks and restore local ecosystems.

Beginning June 1, 2018, the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development will begin deactivating up to 500 kilometres of permit roads located in BC Timber Sales operating areas, throughout the Quesnel Natural Resource District – weather permitting.
