Representatives from British Columbia’s forestry sector, led by Bruce Ralston, Minister of Forests, are embarking on a mission to Japan, showcasing the innovation of B.C. wood products.

New funding for six wood-product manufacturers will grow B.C.’s value-added wood sector, fortifying local economies and creating and protecting hundreds of forestry jobs.

Bruce Ralston, Minister of Forests, and Jagrup Brar, Minister of State for Trade, have issued the following joint statement in response to the United States International Trade Commission’s (ITC) decision in its five-year “sunset” review of the countervailing and anti-dumping duty orders imposed on Canadian imports:

New support for manufacturing businesses in the Fraser Valley will create jobs, promote the development of made-in-B.C. products and strengthen local supply chains and communities.

Jonathan Henry Seinen is being honoured by the Province of B.C. with a Minister’s Award for Innovation and Excellence in Woodlot Management. 

New funding for value-added wood producers and manufacturing businesses in the Kootenays will protect workforces and support strong communities.
