David Eby, Attorney General and Minister Responsible for Housing, and Melanie Mark, MLA for Vancouver-Mount Pleasant, have released the following statement regarding Grace Seniors Home at 333 East Pender St. in Vancouver:

New provincial support will help communities around Mission benefit from an expanded and modernized sanitary system that will also help protect the Fraser River ecosystem.

The Province is working with the City of Prince George on a proposal to deliver an additional 50 safe and supportive homes for people experiencing homelessness.

The Province, in partnership with the City of Victoria, is moving forward with four new supportive housing projects that will deliver up to 192 permanent homes with 24/7 support for people experiencing homelessness.

The Province, through BC Housing, has made a number of improvements to a program that helps seniors and people with permanent disabilities or diminished abilities with the cost of making adaptations to their homes for independent living.

A sufficient number of indoor spaces to support moving Victoria’s encampment residents inside have been secured through an ongoing partnership between the City of Victoria, the Province and BC Housing.

Approximately 600 instances of gendered language across 15 ministries' regulations have been updated to reflect the diversity of the people served by the B.C. government.

A new program supporting local governments to improve their development approvals process builds on the Province’s commitment to help people and communities get the homes they need built faster.
