The Province is providing $62 million to the City of Abbotsford to build a new well and water-treatment system to ensure a reliable, resilient water service for more than 165,000 people in response to growing climate-related threats.

People in 44 communities throughout British Columbia will have access to more local services that respond to the effects of homelessness during extreme weather.

BC Rent Bank assistance increased housing stability and prevented homelessness for the vast majority of people who used its services, according to the results of the latest BC Rent Bank Housing Survey.

Women and children leaving violence will soon have access to safe and secure homes as construction begins on a 44-unit housing development in Kitimat.

Construction is underway on Katherine’s Place, a new supportive housing building for youth and young adults in Kamloops, named after the late Katherine McParland, a local youth advocate.

Construction has started on Park Vista in Langley, a new building with 62 rental homes designed to be affordable for families, seniors and people with middle incomes.

New projects supporting social, health and community services in areas experiencing rapid economic growth will benefit people in the province’s North as a result of the Northern Healthy Communities Fund.
