A renewed agreement between the Tsilhqot’in Nation and the provincial government will enhance government-to-government engagement on land and resource management and provide greater investor certainty in the Cariboo.

A two-month, provincewide consultation on the idea of converting volume-based to area-based forest tenures officially closed May 30, 2014, generating feedback from more than 4,300.

Effective immediately, the allowable annual cut for the Robson Valley Timber Supply Area (TSA) will decrease from 481,000 cubic metres to 400,000 cubic metres.

After an extensive timber supply review, deputy chief forester Diane Nicholls announced that the allowable annual cut for the Boundary Timber Supply Area (TSA) will remain at 700,000 cubic metres for 10 years.
