Effective at noon on Monday, Sept. 15, open fires will be permitted in the entire Clearwater Fire Zone and areas above 1,200 metres in the Salmon Arm Fire Zone within the Kamloops Fire Centre, due to a decreased risk of wildfires.

Effective at noon on Sept. 5, 2014, campfires will once again be allowed throughout the Cariboo Fire Centre's jurisdiction, due to cooler weather in the forecast and fall weather patterns that have resulted in a decreased wildfire risk in the region.

Effective at 4 p.m. on Sept. 5, 2014, Category 2 and Category 3 open burning will once again be allowed throughout the Northwest Fire Centre.

A co-ordinated interprovincial response to invasive mussels has resulted in ten small competition sailboats and one Zodiac travelling from mussel-infested Lake Ontario being inspected at the Victoria Yacht Club.

Despite cooler temperatures and recent rain showers in some areas, campfires are still prohibited in a large part of the Cariboo Fire Centre.

Effective at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, campfires will once again be allowed throughout the Northwest Fire Centre’s jurisdiction.

Effective at noon on Thursday, Aug. 28, campfires will once again be permitted throughout the Coastal Fire Centre's jurisdiction.

Effective at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21, campfires will once again be permitted throughout the Kamloops Fire Centre.

Despite cooler temperatures and scattered showers in some areas of the Prince George Fire Centre, the fire danger rating still ranges from “high” to “extreme”.

The fire danger rating in the Northwest Fire Centre currently ranges from “high” to “extreme”. Dry conditions are expected to continue and no substantial rainfall is in the forecast.
