Government has introduced legislation that makes amendments to the Community Charter and the Vancouver Charter.

The final legislative amendments to complete the Provincial Sales Tax Act were introduced in the legislature today by Finance Minister Michael de Jong, bringing the province one step closer to a re-implemented PST on April 1, 2013.

Legislation introduced will formalize the creation of an industry-led, formula-funded Crown corporation to market B.C.'s abundant and diverse tourism resources. Establishing the corporation through statute provides greater transparency and funding certainty for industry stakeholders and taxpayers.
