To help keep communities safe and protect British Columbia’s health-care system from COVID-19, the Province is introducing travel restrictions that limit non-essential travel in B.C.

Budget 2021 focuses on protecting people’s health and livelihoods through the pandemic, while making investments in services, infrastructure and opportunities to support a strong recovery and a brighter future for everyone.

People in British Columbia are visiting BC Parks in ever-increasing numbers, and the Province is increasing its investment to promote access and protect nature in some of the most beautiful places on the planet.

The B.C. government is providing an additional $1.87 million to assist more businesses that hold eligible tenures for fishing and hunting lodges, guest ranches, ecotourism lodges, seasonal campgrounds and other commercial recreation operators during the COVID-19 pandemic.

People looking to enjoy the outdoors will benefit from significant upgrades made to the Cowichan Valley Trail, following a culvert failure that occurred in 2020.  

The official start of the 2021 camping season is still a few months away, but people living in B.C. can soon begin reserving campsites in provincial parks to help plan trips close to home.
