The Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions has released the following statement about the BC Coroners Service report about illicit drug-toxicity deaths in August and September 2024:

Farmers and ranchers are receiving additional assistance to prepare for, adapt to and lessen the impacts of climate change so they can better protect their farms and livestock and continue growing food for people in B.C. 

The Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) issued 10 administrative penalties totalling $590,000 to Coastal GasLink Pipeline Ltd. (CGL) on Sept. 11, 2024, for non-compliance with requirements of its environmental assessment certificate.

The Province is working collaboratively with the Investment Agriculture Foundation of BC (IAF) to provide help to tree-fruit growers who were affected by the recent closure and application for creditor protection by the BC Tree Fruits Cooperative.

More B.C. businesses and organizations are receiving funding to provide innovative solutions to recycle and reuse plastic while supporting jobs for people throughout British Columbia.

As part of British Columbia’s ongoing work to protect government information systems, the Province is entering an agreement with the Government of Canada to enhance collaboration with the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security (Cyber Centre).

Mike Farnworth, Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General, has released the following statement regarding the filing of the fourth unexplained wealth order (UWO) application:

The Province is building on the progress it has made to cut harmful methane emissions by strengthening its regulations for the oil and gas sector.

Starting on Oct. 1, 2024, applications will be accepted from child care providers to join the $10 a Day ChildCareBC program, which will create more low-cost child care options for families throughout B.C.
