On the heels of World Autism Awareness Day on April 2, the Province is announcing $100,000 to help support the Comox Valley Child Development Association renovate their facility.

Students in the Comox Valley School District will benefit from almost $1 million in provincial funding for school upgrade projects and classroom supplies, MLA Don McRae announced on behalf of Education Minister Mike Bernier.

A $7.3-million contract has been awarded to Knappett Industries of Nanaimo to finish work on the new route that will provide an improved connection between Highway 19 and the community of Courtenay. 

Building on the economic benefits and jobs created by getting to yes on major projects and provincial investments in infrastructure, Comox Valley MLA Don McRae announced immediate investments and a long-term action plan outlined in B.C.’s rural economic development strategy that will create jobs and economic opportunities in Comox Valley.

Comox Valley families are being encouraged to attend an open house on Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, to share their ideas on how to transform rural education in British Columbia.

At-risk women and their children fleeing abuse now have access to a new safe and supportive place to live during difficult times, with the opening of a four-unit second-stage housing project in Courtenay.

The B.C. government has distributed $36,051 in compensation for municipal property taxes to the City of Courtenay.

Four school districts in the region will receive a combined $90,000 in funding for the Youth Work in Trades program to boost trades training for young people.
