Eleven business and industry leaders have been appointed to a new task force focused on reigniting B.C.’s tourism sector and enhancing its long-term competitiveness.

People who work in the Indigenous tourism sector and communities throughout B.C. will benefit from $4 million to create new opportunities for tourism development.

Under the BC Rural Dividend Program, the Government of British Columbia is providing $1,206,897 for 13 projects in the Thompson-Nicola region.

Under the BC Rural Dividend Program, the Government of British Columbia is providing $390,500 for four projects to support Indigenous businesses in the Fraser Valley and Fraser Canyon.

Under the BC Rural Dividend Program, the Government of British Columbia is providing $271,544 for four projects in the South Okanagan.

Visitors and people in resort municipalities will be able to enjoy more trail development, cultural events and infrastructure development, thanks to the Province’s increase of now stable funding to the Resort Municipality Initiative (RMI).
