KAMLOOPS - Team BC provided another thrilling performance at the Western Canada Summer Games and captured its 10th consecutive Western Canada Summer Games Trophy, Ida Chong, Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development, announced.
Flag bearers Joseph Byram and Kierra Smith led Team BC into the Interior Savings Centre after Team BC captured more than 52 per cent of the total gold medals - 43 more golds than in 2007. The team also won medals in every sport and increased its share of total medals won to 35 per cent - up from 31 per cent in 2007.

- 130 gold medals
- 68 silver medals
- 63 bronze medals
- 261 total medals
Quick Facts:
- The Western Canada Summer Games were held in Kamloops from Aug. 5-14.
- Team BC sent 345 athletes, ages 12 to 42, and 72 coaches to the 2011 Western Canada Summer Games.
- Approximately 2,300 athletes, coaches, managers and officials from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Nunavut, Northwest Territories, and the Yukon Territory took part in 10 days of high-calibre multi-sport competition.
