Forecasts for the long weekend are predicting warmer, drier temperatures across the Prince George Fire Centre and fire officials are reminding the public that it doesn't take much to start a wildfire.
Firefighters have responded to 74 fires across the Prince George Fire Centre this year, which have consumed 381 hectares.
If you are going camping this weekend and plan on having a campfire, please ensure fires are not lit or kept burning during windy conditions. Have adequate tools, water and people on hand to contain a fire, and ensure fires are fully extinguished before leaving the area.
