Premier Christy Clark issued the following statement today in anticipation of Earth Day on April 22, 2011:
"As we celebrate Earth Day 2011, it's a great time to reflect on how lucky we are as British Columbians to live in a province blessed with some of the most majestic and pristine natural spaces on the planet. It's all of our responsibility to do our part to protect this incredible gift we've been given.
"B.C. is a leader in green jobs, clean energy and protecting natural spaces - with the most protected land of any province in this country. We need to make sure we're building on those accomplishments to further protect our environment.
"This Earth Day, take the time to think of steps you can take in your everyday life that will contribute to the sustainability of the environment we all depend on. Let's take care of our treasured province, because we're all in this together.
"Happy Earth Day."
