Premier Christy Clark issued the following statement after the 99th Grey Cup game:

"On behalf of all British Columbians, I want to congratulate the BC Lions for an incredible season and bringing the Grey Cup home to Vancouver.

"The season started with some adversity, but you became an example for all of us of what happens when you believe in yourself and work together as a team. The mix of veterans and rookies delivered for football fans. And on a special note, it was great to see former Vancouver Island Raider Andrew Harris take home the top Canadian award today.

"Winning the game at home, the first time it's been done since 1994, adds to the excitement. To David Braley, Wally Buono and the entire BC Lions organization, a job well done and thanks for such a special season of memories."
