This week, BC Liquor Stores throughout the province welcome the annual arrival of twin teddy bears, marking the launch of the Share a Bear campaign and the holiday season in BC Liquor Stores.

For more than 20 years, BC Liquor Store customers have supported the Share a Bear program. This year, the teddy bears are fraternal twins - and these plush caramel-and-chocolate twin bears are guaranteed to be a hit with young and old alike.

BC Liquor Store customers purchase these twin teddy bears for $11 and then "share" one of the bear twins with a local community charity. The local BC Liquor Store staff arrange for the "shared" bears to go to a charity in the community.

The Share a Bear program began in BC Liquor Stores in 1989. Since then, thanks to the Share a Bear program, approximately 400,000 bears have found someone to love them.

During the 2010 holiday season, more than 28,000 bears were donated to children and families in need through children's charities, shelters and hospitals throughout the province.

This year, the Share a Bear program begins the week of Nov. 14, 2011. Bears can be purchased at all BC Liquor Stores. For a complete list of BC Liquor Stores and hours of operation, please visit: www.bcliquorstores.com
