The company services a challenging mountain environment that includes high snowfall areas, frequent winter avalanche cycles and many active rockfall areas. Last year, the company consistently delivered a high level of service despite one of the most challenging avalanche seasons on record.
The company is also innovative, introducing a new "Tow Plow" that lets it service multi-lane highways in almost half the time.
The Deputy Minister's Contractor of the Year Awards recognize construction and maintenance companies demonstrating excellence in the categories of grading, paving, bridges and structures, and highway maintenance work throughout the province. The ninth annual awards were hosted by the B.C. Road Builders & Heavy Construction Association on Dec. 2 in Victoria.
The award runners-up in the highway maintenance category were Emil Anderson Maintenance Co. Ltd. for the Fraser Valley Service Area (Lower Mainland District), and Lakes District Maintenance Ltd. of Burns Lake for the Robson Service Area (Valemount).
