Agriculture Minister Norm Letnick released the following statement on the release of the Cohen Commission's final report:

"I'd like to thank commissioner Bruce Cohen and his staff for conducting this extensive inquiry and also thank the participants who shared their knowledge, commitment and passion to help the commission look for answers to the decline.

"B.C. government scientists are currently reviewing the report to determine provincial implications, and I expect to be able to provide more detailed comments shortly.

"One thing, however, will not change, and that is the B.C. government's commitment to maintaining healthy populations of wild salmon, for the environmental, cultural and economic contributions they make to British Columbia."
