The B.C. government is pleased to once again congratulate swimmer Brianna Nelson on another medal at the Paralympic Games in London, announced Ida Chong, Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development.
Nelson, who trains at Saanich Commonwealth Place, won a silver in Sunday's 200-metre individual medley (SM7) event with a time of 3:04.60. Australia won the gold medal while China took bronze.
Today's medal was the fourth for a B.C.-connected athlete and marks the second silver for Nelson, who won her first medal in Friday's 50-metre butterfly (S7) event. She is competing in multiple races during the London Paralympic Games.
