The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a female found deceased in a wooded area of Pacific Spirit Park near the University of British Columbia on March 15, 2012.
After a post-mortem investigation and with assistance from Vancouver Police Department Missing Persons Unit, UBC RCMP Detachment and RCMP Forensic Identification Services, the female was determined to be Vancouver resident Ms. Violet Puskas.
Ms. Puskas was about 47 years old at the time of her death. She was last known to be alive on Jan. 5, 2012. Identification was established by a comparative dental examination. A thorough investigation has ruled out foul play in Ms. Puskas's death.
Ms. Puskas's family has been notified of the confirmed identification. On behalf of the family, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
