The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man, who died as a result of an industrial accident at a mill site in Fort St. James on the July 11, 2012.

The man is Mika Saario, aged 44, from Prince George.

Mr. Saario was taking part in demolition work at the site when a steel structure collapsed on top of him.

The BC Coroners Service and WorkSafeBC are continuing to investigate this death.

The family of Mr. Saario has been notified of his death. On behalf of the family, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.

The BC Coroners Service expresses its condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Saario and also its appreciation to WorkSafeBC for their assistance with this investigation.
