The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a married couple who died in a float-tubing accident, which occurred near Christina Lake on July 29, 2012.
The man is Ronald Legare, aged 74, and the woman is his spouse, Jacqueline Jean Legare, aged 71. They resided in Christina Lake.
Mr. and Mrs. Legare were part of a large group float-tubing on the Kettle River when they were witnessed being swept into the Cascade Canyon by swift currents. A third person who was also swept into the canyon remains missing at this time.
The Coroners Service continues to investigate these deaths.
The family of Mr. and Mrs. Legare have been notified of their deaths. On behalf of family members, the Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
