The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who was killed while mountain climbing on Mount Robson on Aug. 20, 2012.
He was Bradley Charles Joyce, aged 35, from Calgary.
Mr. Joyce was an experienced mountaineer who was climbing with a friend on the back side of Mount Robson on Aug. 20. A snow bridge, which he was crossing, gave way, and Mr. Joyce fell into a crevasse where he was covered by a small avalanche. His climbing partner was not injured and was able to summon help.
The Coroners Service continues to investigate this death.
The family of Mr. Joyce has been notified of these findings. On behalf of family members, the Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
