The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after a mountain-biking accident near Penticton.
The man is Guy Joseph Du Vent, aged 60, from Kaleden.
Mr. Du Vent was reported missing by his wife on Aug. 27, 2012 after failing to return from a mountain-biking expedition in an area known as "Three Blind Mice" along Naramata Bench, near Penticton.
Mr. Du Vent was located, injured, by Search and Rescue personnel and was transported to Kelowna General Hospital. Mr. Du Vent was unable to recover from his injuries and was pronounced deceased on Aug. 29, 2012.
The Coroners Service is continuing to investigate this death.
The family of Mr. Du Vent has been notified of his death. On behalf of the family, the Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
