The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died while scuba diving in Nanoose Bay on Nov. 2, 2012.
The man is Paul Scott Revane, aged 53, from Nanaimo.
Mr. Revane was diving with a companion at a popular diving site in Nanoose Bay late on the afternoon of Nov. 2 when the companion noted him to be in distress. The companion was able to get Mr. Revane to the shore, but resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful.
The BC Coroners Service is continuing to investigate this death with the help of the Canadian Coast Guard.
The family of Mr. Revane has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
