Shirley Bond, Minister of Justice and Attorney General, issued the following statement following today's fatal crash in Surrey:

"On behalf of all British Columbians, I want to extend my deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Constable Adrian Oliver of the Surrey RCMP detachment and assure them that the thoughts and prayers of British Columbians are with them.

"I was very sorry to learn of Constable Oliver's tragic death - we know the loss of any officer is a tragedy and our community is diminished today because of it.

"Police officers face potential dangers each day while they work to keep our communities safe, and we appreciate their dedication to duty as they serve our province."
