The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a woman who died when she was hit by a falling tree near Lac Le Jeune on Nov. 25.
She was Melissa Jane Boisclair, aged 42, from Kamloops.
On the afternoon of Nov. 25, Ms. Boisclair was with a family member on a remote forestry road off Lac Le Jeune Road, felling trees for firewood. In the felling of one tree, something went wrong and Ms. Boisclair was struck by the falling tree. Ambulance paramedics attended, but Ms. Boisclair died of her injuries at the scene.
The BC Coroners Service continues to investigate this death.
Ms. Boisclair's family has been notified of her death. On behalf of family members, the Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
