The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a male who died following a motor vehicle incident near Fort St. John on Dec. 11, 2012.
He was John Wiebe, aged 69, of Fort St. John.
Mr. Wiebe was the driver of a five-ton water tanker truck which was involved in a single-vehicle rollover accident on Cecil Lake Road near the Beatton River Bridge about 8 a.m. on Dec. 11.
Mr. Wiebe was transported by ambulance to hospital in Fort St. John, but later succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.
The BC Coroners Service, WorkSafeBC and the RCMP continue to investigate this death. Road conditions were noted to be poor at the time.
The family of Mr. Wiebe has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
