Travellers are advised the East Canoe Forest Service Road located in the Kinbasket Reservoir area will be closed until further notice at the 27-kilometre marker starting Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013.
The closure is due to an unsafe bridge across Bulldog Creek damaged by a washout earlier this year. No recreation sites or trails are affected by the closure.
Repairs required to the damaged structure are unknown at this time and currently are being assessed. Any repair work would not occur until April or May 2014, when low water levels would allow the work to take place.
The East Canoe Forest Service Road is part of British Columbia's 55,000-kilometre Forest Service road network that provides access to British Columbia's backcountry.
