The public is invited to review and comment on BC Timber Sales' 2013 operating plan for logging and road building in the Dawson Creek timber supply area until Dec. 20, 2013.

The operating plan provides detailed information on proposed logging and road construction activities and meets requirements as described in BC Timber Sales' 2007-2017 Forest Stewardship Plan for the Dawson Creek timber supply area.

The proposed logging identified in the plan is targeted at pine leading stands that have been attacked by the mountain pine beetle and within the geographic areas of Coldstream Creek, Rainey Creek, Halfmoon Creek, Sundown Creek, Oetata Creek, One Island Lake, Tupper Creek, Bear Mountain and Steeprock Creek.

Interested members of the public can view the plan at the BC Timber Sales' Peace-Liard office at 9000 - 17th St., Dawson Creek, B.C., V1G 4A4 until Dec. 20, 2013, during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.).

To make an appointment to view the plan outside of these hours, contact Bob Phipps, RPF, planning forester, at 250 784-1241 or Carl Jahn, RPF, area forester, at 250 784-1218.

BC Timber Sales, Peace-Liard Business Area has achieved sustainable forest management certification under the Sustainable Forestry Initiative standard for all of its harvesting operations in the Dawson Creek timber supply area.
