Effective immediately, travellers are advised the Monte Creek Forest Service Road, also known locally as the Private Forest Service Road, is closed until further notice at the 5.75 kilometre marker for road repairs.
The closure, approximately 27 kilometres east of Kamloops, is to stabilize a section of the road damaged by erosion. Access through the closure area will be restricted to all-terrain vehicles and snowmobiles only. Note the area past the closure can still be accessed by the Salmon River (Douglas Lake) Road or by the George Creek Connector onto the Pratt Lake Forest Service Road.
The Monte Creek Forest Service Road is part of British Columbia's 55,000-kilometre Forest Service road network that provides access to British Columbia's backcountry.
