The BC Coroners Service, with assistance from Kamloops RCMP, has confirmed that Kamloops resident Mr. Christopher Scott Hobbs, aged 25 years, died as a result of a rail incident in Kamloops on Jan. 3, 2013.
Mr. Hobbs was struck by a westbound CP Rail train at the Pat Road level crossing in Kamloops and was confirmed deceased at the scene.
The BC Coroners Service will continue their investigation to determine the nature and circumstances surrounding his death. Foul play has been ruled out.
The family of Mr. Hobbs has been notified of his death. On behalf of the family, the Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
