The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after being involved in a compact excavator incident that occurred on Jan. 5, 2013, in Deroche.

The man is Robert Thomas Trevena, aged 45, from Surrey.

Mr. Trevena was operating a Bobcat compact excavator on private property in Deroche when the incident occurred.

Emergency personnel attended the scene of the incident, but confirmed Mr. Trevena deceased.

The BC Coroners Service and WorkSafeBC continue to investigate this death.

The family of Mr. Trevena has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
