The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died as a result of a Dec. 27, 2012, motor vehicle incident in Surrey.

The man is Donald Allan Murray, aged 72, from Surrey.

Mr. Murray's sedan collided with an unmarked police vehicle at the intersection of 56 Ave. and 184 St. He was transported from the scene of the incident to Peace Arch Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries Dec. 31, 2012.

The BC Coroners Service continues to investigate the circumstances of Mr. Murray's death, and asks that the media respect the privacy of his family at this difficult time. RCMP Traffic Services and the Independent Investigations Office also are investigating.
