The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died following a house fire in Revelstoke on Jan. 17, 2012.
He was Michael John Ralph, aged 51, of Revelstoke.
At about 5:45 a.m. on Jan. 17, fire crews were called to a report of a residential fire at a home in the 1700-block of Tillon Road in Revelstoke. They found the home fully engulfed in fire. After extinguishing the fire, the crews found Mr. Ralph in the dining room area of the home. He was removed by the fire crews, but could not be resuscitated and was pronounced deceased at the scene. A family member of Mr. Ralph's managed to escape the fire.
The BC Coroners Service and Office of the BC Fire Commissioner continue to investigate this incident.
Mr. Ralph's family has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
