The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died in a motor vehicle incident near Port Alberni on Jan. 25, 2013.
He was Jaspreet Singh Parmar, aged 25, of Nanaimo.
Mr. Parmar was driving a cube van westbound on Highway 4 at about 1:15 p.m. on Jan. 25, 2013, when it collided with an eastbound three-ton flatdeck truck about 15 kilometres east of Port Alberni.
Mr. Parmar was transported to West Coast General Hospital in Port Alberni, but succumbed to his injuries shortly afterward.
The BC Coroners Service, RCMP Traffic Services and WorkSafeBC continue to investigate this death.
The family of Mr. Parmar has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
