The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of two young women who died following a house fire in Victoria on Feb. 16, 2013.

The two are Emily Grace Morin, aged 20, and Georgia Paige Klap, aged 22, both of Victoria.

The two were among three persons who died following the fire in a house at 1320 Johnson Street in Victoria in the early morning hours of Feb. 16. The identity of the third person, a male, is not being made public pending further testing to definitively confirm the identification.

Ms. Morin was rescued from the burning building by the Victoria Fire Department and was transported to Royal Jubilee Hospital. However, she was deceased on arrival at the hospital.

Ms. Klap was also rescued by the Victoria Fire Department. She was transported to Victoria General Hospital where she was admitted to the intensive care unit. She died later on Feb. 16.

The BC Coroners Service, Victoria Fire Department and Victoria Police Department are continuing to investigate this tragic case.

The families of Ms. Morin and Ms. Klap are aware of their deaths.
