The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man and a woman who died following a motor vehicle incident near Slocan on Jan. 29, 2013.

The male was Kevin Clarence Culbert, aged 51, and the female was Miranda Findell, aged 45. Both were from Calgary.

Mr. Culbert was the driver and Ms. Findell the passenger in a pickup truck which left the road on Highway 6 in the area of Cape Horn Bluffs north of Slocan in the early evening hours of Jan. 29.

The vehicle crossed a pullout and rolled down a steep embankment onto an old road surface below. Both Mr. Culbert and Ms. Findell were deceased at the scene.

The Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate these deaths. Road and weather conditions were noted to be poor at the time because of heavy snowfall.

The families of Mr. Culbert and Ms. Findell have been notified of the deaths. On behalf of family members, the Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
