The BC Coroners Service has confirmed it is investigating the sudden death of a man whose body was found in his home near Chase on March 12.
He was John Pasquale Boncore, also known as Splitting the Sky or by his native name, Dacajeweiah, aged 61, a resident of the Adams Lake reserve near Chase.
Mr. Boncore was found by friends in his residence on March 13, 2013. He was deceased at the scene and is believed to have died the previous day.
The BC Coroners Service and Chase RCMP continue to investigate this death. Foul play now has been ruled out. Post-mortem testing has been ordered to try to determine a clear cause of death.
The family of Mr. Boncore has been notified of his death. On behalf of the family, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
