The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died as a result of a boating incident, which occurred on Shuswap Lake on April 30, 2013.
The man is John Thomas Poole, aged 59, from Calgary, Alta.
Mr. Poole had been boating near his seasonal residence at Blind Bay on April 30, 2013 when his boat was observed to be floating empty in the water.
Emergency personnel were alerted and commenced a search. Mr. Poole was discovered, deceased, in the lake on May 13, 2013.
The BC Coroners Service continues to investigate this death.
The family of Mr. Poole has been notified of his death. On behalf of the family, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
