The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died following a motor vehicle incident near Sun Peaks resort on June 8, 2013.

He was Mark Russell Haynes, aged 33, of Sun Peaks.

Mr. Haynes was the front-seat passenger in a car which was left the road and went into the ditch on a road on the Sun Peaks resort property about 11:30 p.m. on June 8. He was deceased at the scene.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.

The family of Mr. Haynes has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
