The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a male who died following a motorcycle incident south of Prince George on July 4, 2013.
He was John William Ireland, aged 66, of Prince George.
Mr. Ireland was the operator and sole occupant of a motorcycle that was travelling southbound on Highway 97 shortly before 9 a.m. on July 4. About 50 km. south of Prince George at Camp Creek Road, Mr. Ireland's motorcycle was in a collision with a moose.
Mr. Ireland was deceased at the scene.
The Coroners Service and the RCMP continue to investigate this death.
The family of Mr. Ireland has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
