The BC Coroners Service has confirmed it will undertake an autopsy and toxicology testing to assist in determining the cause of death of Cory Monteith.
Mr. Monteith, aged 31, was found deceased in his room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, shortly after noon on July 13.
As previously announced, there was no obvious cause of death noted upon initial examination at the scene. An autopsy and toxicology testing are necessary for the determination of the cause and classification of death of Mr. Monteith.
The autopsy is taking place today (Monday, July 15, 2013) and samples for toxicology will be taken at the same time.
However, results are not expected to be available for several days at the earliest.
The BC Coroners Service will issue further updates on this case as and when information becomes available.
