The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a teenaged girl who was found deceased at her residence in Kelowna on Aug. 2, 2013.

The girl was Marissa Anne Ginter, aged 17, from Kelowna.

Ms. Ginter was discovered deceased on the morning of Aug. 2, 2013.

An autopsy has been completed, however, the cause of her death has not been confirmed pending further examinations, including toxicology analysis.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death. A full Coroner's Report will be issued at the conclusion of the investigation.

The family of Ms. Ginter has been notified of her death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.

The BC Coroners Service expresses its condolences to the family and friends of Ms. Ginter.
