The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died as the result of head injuries received in a recreational diving incident in the Adams River on Aug. 3, 2013.
The man was Robert Bruce Boyd, aged 49, from Kamloops.
Mr. Boyd had been taking part in recreational activities with family members upstream from the Squilax-Anglemont Road bridge in the Adams River area when he failed to resurface after diving into a river pool.
Mr. Boyd was recovered from the river by search and rescue personnel. Emergency workers on-scene attempted treatment before confirming Mr. Boyd deceased.
The BC Coroners Service continues to investigate this death.
The family of Mr. Boyd has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
