The BC Coroners Service has confirmed that the death of Pierre Lemaitre is the result of suicide.

The medical cause of death has been found to be asphyxia due to hanging.

Emergency personnel were summoned to Mr. Lemaitre's home in Abbotsford on the morning of July 29, 2013. Despite their best efforts, Mr. Lemaitre could not be resuscitated.

The BC Coroners Service is continuing its investigation into the circumstances of Mr. Lemaitre's death but will be disclosing no further details at this time. The preliminary investigation has found no evidence of foul play. When the investigation is complete, a public Coroners Report will be issued.

All family members of Mr. Lemaitre have been made aware of his death. On behalf of the family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
