The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died following a Jet Ski incident on Okanagan Lake on Aug. 24, 2013.
He was Patrick Paul Mangold, aged 47, from Kelowna.
Mr. Mangold was riding his Jet Ski on Okanagan Lake in the evening hours of Aug. 24 when the Jet Ski struck a log boom near Traders Cove on the west side of the lake north of Kelowna. Mr. Mangold was thrown from the Jet Ski as a result.
A nearby boater heard the impact and was able to get Mr. Mangold aboard his boat. As a result, he was quickly transported to shore and then taken to hospital by ambulance. However, he was not able to be resuscitated.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
The family of Mr. Mangold has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
