The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a girl who died after being involved in a motor vehicle incident in Duncan on Aug. 26, 2013.

Selena Natasha Joe, aged 13, from Duncan was struck as she crossed the Trans Canada Highway at Boys Road, on foot. Ms. Joe died at the scene from her injuries.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate this incident.

Ms. Joe's family has been notified of her death. On behalf of the family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
