The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of two men who died in separate workplace incidents in the past three days.
Ryan Geoffrey Burch, aged 41, from Saltspring Island, died in the late morning of Aug. 26 as the result of an incident on a logging cutblock site in mountainous terrain near Youbou.
Shane Mackenzie Gorner, aged 19, of Salmon Arm, died about 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 28 as the result of an industrial incident at a manufacturing plant in Salmon Arm where he was employed.
Both men were deceased at the scenes of the incidents.
The BC Coroners Service and WorkSafeBC are continuing to investigate both deaths.
The families of Mr. Burch and Mr. Gorner have been notified of their deaths. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
