The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died in a bicycle incident in Nanaimo on Sept. 2, 2013.
He was Norman Jack Ellison, aged 36, from Nanaimo.
Mr. Ellison was riding his bicycle westbound on Albert Street in Nanaimo, just east of Pine Street, about 4:45 p.m. on Sept. 2 when he was in collision with a BC Transit bus. He was immediately transported by ambulance to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, but died there from his injuries several hours later.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
The family of Mr. Ellison has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
